About Me

I'm a freelance food and travel journo, event host and editor based in Melbourne, Australia.

The media love affair started way back in my teens, where much of my time (and all of my pocket money) was spent hosting a punk rock radio show, interviewing bands and producing my own 'zine on my dad's office photocopier.

During my twenties I dove deep into hospo world, travelling the world for culinary inspo and treading the boards at top restaurants in Australia and abroad. When the late nights started to lose their shine I hung up my waiter's friend and apron to write about food instead of carrying it around.

Since then, my work has been published in Australia and internationally by the likes of Monocle, Monocle 24 (radio), National Geographic Traveller Food (UK), Australian TravellerSBS FoodGood FoodBroadsheetThe Age Good Food GuideGourmet Traveller and more.

I was the food editor for The Monocle Travel Guide, Melbourne, and author of Herb Lester's pocket-sized travel guide, An Appetite For Melbourne.

I'm a proud Ambassador for Scarf  a social enterprise that provides hospitality training and mentoring for young people from Melbourne's migrant and refugee communities. I’m also an ambassador for Sacred Heart Mission's annual Dine With Heart campaign, which raises funds to help feed over 400 of Melbourne’s most disadvantaged people every day.
