Triple R + Melbourne Writers Festival appearances

I was pretty flattered to recently receive an invitation to speak at the upcoming 2014 Melbourne Writers Festival. The two food-focused events will see me chairing panel discussions with some serious food industry heavyweights and I've got to admit, I'm pretty excited about it.

The festival program was launched today, and ticket sales for both events are now on sale through the festival website. Both events will be held at the Duke of Wellington in Melbourne, CBD and ticket sales include wine and light canapes.

Thinking & Drinking: Food Fundamentals on Tue 26 Aug

I'll be discussing the resurgence of simpler living and eating in an era of heavily manufactured convenience with Lake House Daylesford legend, Alla Wolf-Tasker, baking doyenne Phillippa Grogan (Phillippa's Bakery), and 2013 MasterChef Australia winner Emma Dean

Thinking & Drinking: Food Ethics on Wed 27 Aug

Here I'll be chairing a discussion with ethical thinkers Cassie Duncan, Tammi Jonas, and Ewan McEoin about how to incorporate simple, sustainable practices into our everyday lives.

Triple R FM radio appearance

In other media-related news, I also had the rare pleasure of appearing alongside veteran TV chef Gabriel Gate and wine guru, Nigel Watson as a guest on Triple R FM's The Party Show last week for their annual Bastille Day special.

It was pretty clamorous and kinda boozy but a lot of fun - particularly due to the fact that I spent a huge chunk of my teens hosting radio programs back in Warrnambool and have secretly been hanging to get back on the airwaves again for some time now.

The show's lovably raucous host, Headley Gritter had me award a few coveted 'prizes' to some of my favourite bars and restaurants around town - so listen in to see who made the grade.

You can listen online here (just click on The Party Show, Sat 12 July).
